Short-Term versus Long-Term Trading. Francis Hunt a technical analysis trader and coach comments. I think for learning people should start with a demo account or use very small stakes to trade on short-term time frames as that helps you develop the trading mindset. After a while you should look to trade over longer time frames. Several traders use ATR as part of their sell strategy. My question is how in practice do you actually do it? All average true range measures is how much a price has varied during a particular time frame session. As such it is measuring the impulsiveness or the volatility more accurately of a market's move. What other indicators have people found to have the best outcome when used with ATR. For example would you only sell if ATR broken AND the share price is below certain moving average or MACD cross etc?

See http://www.financial-spread-betting.com/spreadbetting/compare-spreads.html - I would suggest InterTrader or Ayondo.

Yea I'm learning but you do have to really look at all the time frames, wicks, Support and Resistance and haveing people who know what thier doing to ask questions is very Blessfull to have. And good study material:) to help you know what alot of the patterns can mean and around the time what's going on :)

so true. Also short term has a lot of noise and is exhausting. I have been trading the last month with just 4 hour + time frames using wicks and support and resistance to get entries and the results have been breathtaking. Trading takes patience to get in on opportunities.

Hi, I got curious... What you mean by "4 hour + time frames" ? Every candle is a four hours candle?
