10:57 "and that's the reason why Background is declared static" - a. 'background' is not static. b. if 'background' were static, then all ContentControls would share its runtime value. c. nor is it 'readonly'.
Trzbne (8 months ago)
Background is not static, but the base class, Control has static readonly DependencyProperties.

Very good tutorial. Thank you very much for such simple explanation. I just didn't understand part when you said why it has to be readonly. I understand for properties like IsMouseOver, where there is nothing to set, but for things like background don't you set value when you put Teal or something else? Or as i undestood, with that part in XAML you only set normal CLR properties with help from dependency properties, and because dependency properties support change notification background will change each time you change the property?
DotNetSkoool (2 years ago)
Dependency proper tie's value should not change after it is initialised, hence it is always read only just like private variables inside normal CLR properties. Properties like Background where value could be set is also a dependency property coz data binding is always done with dependency properties. Remember in data binding target is always a dependency property. Hence Background is always target.

Nice videos ... We do not need to learn everything from an interview perspective ...
DotNetSkoool (2 years ago)
WPF is a vast subject my friend.. To cover all those requires a lot of efforts. After these basics are over will try to record some detailed topics. But that will take some time.. I got the idea of recording these because when I took interviews these basics were not up to mark for many candidates... So the idea was to help
I have to be careful with my subscriptions or I'll end up 40 subs I have onyl used once. I have already found 2 videos on your channel that have cleared up some really important question and both were explained in a way that even I could understand. So I unsubbed about 20 of those other guys just so I could make room for your channel. Super excited about what you come up with next!!
